Tux Magazine has released it’s first issue and subscriptions are free. Well, it’s not a print magazine, but a downloadable one in pdf format. I’m not fond of this style as I prefer printed readables, but I can’t complain about the price. I’ve downloaded my copy, but haven’t had a chance to look at it yet.
Update: Ok, I got a change to skim though it and read the intro pages. So far so good. Looks like some good articles. The only real issue I saw in this issue was a strong sway on KDE applications. I hope they broaden the horizon a little in upcoming issues. Another little issue I had was at the end of the magazine they had a statement that read, “The first and only Liunx magazine for the new user.” That is just not true. They may be the only, but they were not the first. Anyone remember Maximum Linux? I believe they were geared to linux newbies as well. I liked that magazine. I guess they were just ahead of their time. I still have all their issues.
