Need a catchy name!

Seems like every great RV blogger/vlogger has a catchy site name. I too need to come up with something so I can start writing about my adventures. Until I have something, I will continue to add my notes here.

Update [8/5/2017]: Got one (I think)! From now on all posts will happen over that the Tux Travels blog. https://tuxtravels.com/

Musts for a RV

  • Dual ACs
  • 50 Amp
  • All LED Lights
  • Dual Axel

What kind of RV do I want?

This is still an undecided item. Motorhome (Class A, B, & C), travel trailer, fifth wheel????? They all have pros & cons.

Here I will list models that I like:

Motorhome

Class A

A Class A with a tow car would be a great way to start this adventure, but a good floor plan is big and pricey

Class B

These are pretty much a high end conversion van. Really doubtful I'd go this route. I look at them though, and will list any floorplans I find appealing

Class C

If I were top go the motorhome route, a Class C would probably be my choice, but I have yet to find a good layout in the sub 30' range

Travel Trailer

Fifth Wheel

I think this is my least likely option as a starter RV for me

Conversion

Lately I've been watching a lot of videos on bus conversions, so I guess that means it's another RV option. While some of these conversions are simply outstanding, they took a lot of work by very handy individuals. Doubtful that I'll end up going this direction, but I will keep options open.

Update [8/4/2017]: I've actually been warming up to the idea a of school bus conversion. Not that it's ultimately what I want to use, I believe it can facilitate getting started sooner and cheaper.

Skoolie - Short Bus Conversion

  • Based on this bus size, space is very limited, so I would need a good floor plan design
  • Expected interior dimensions of a short bus 15'L x 7.5'W x 6'H

Musts

  • Fresh water tank (for showering and sink)
  • Propane (for cooktop, heat, and possibly fridge)
  • Solar as well as shore power connection (Want to be able to charge batteries off grid, but also want to connect at an RV park)
  • Toilet and a shower inside the bus (probably the trickiest must with the lack of space)
