I found this guy today on a web that spans from a tall lilac bush in my back yard to my neighbors gutter. It’s a huge web. Let me also point out this is the biggest spider I’ve ever seen around my house. Also for the record, let me state that I hate spiders. They really creep me out. But that didn’t stop me from taking many pictures of him (or her) in hopes of getting one that looks kind of cool.
My wife says it’s a banana spider. Can anyone confirm that?
Stats on the photo. This is a 100% crop at 135mm. I was approx 4 feet away from the spider. 1/125sec @ f8.
If I feel adventurous tomorrow, I think I’ll bring out a ladder and try to get a little closer.
