I was speaking with a guy who’s developing a website for one of our clients today because I wanted to bring to his attention a small formatting problem that shows up for me in Mozilla and Firebird. The site did look fine in IE. Keep in mind that problem is only minor, but his response to me was, ‘Why should I change anything when 95% of the population uses IE. The user should change their browser’.
Man I hate that. That’s second time I’ve ran into basically the same statement from a web guy.
Is it really that hard to code to standards? He’s using Dreamweaver, so is it Dreamweavers fault?
Bottom-line, after I explained how the client uses Mozilla as his main browser since I showed them how cool it is, the web guy changed his tone and said he would fix the formatting problem.
