Two interesting notes about an email I got from Redhat today. First, they’re skipping dot releases with 8.0 and are moving directly to 9.0 with the next release. Secondly, as a paid subscriber to the Redhat Network, I’ll be able to download the 9.0 ISO’s about a week before they’re released on public FTP sites or even in retail packages. Goodie for me!
Although, could this just be a marketing plan to get a surge of subscribers to the network? I bet it is, and we’ll see how the bandwdth gets from the RHN site. When they released 8.0, I wasn’t getting no rocket speed from it. Guess I’ll find out on March 31st at 9am EST when I try to get it.
